Audition Info for the Fall Musical
LITTLE SHOP OF HORRORS
EVERYONE is invited to be a part of the musical, whether that is on stage or back stage.
If you want to be in the chorus (only rehearses Wednesday nights - so you can play a sport and do the show!), you do NOT have to audition, you can just sign up.
To audition for any speaking role, you must both read and sing. All Audition materials (scenes and songs) are posted on Google Classroom.
SCENES: Select one scene/monologue from the audition packet to perform with the person of
your choice. All may read only once, unless asked to read more than once by Mrs. Fish. Make a
clear choice with your character and use a loud and clear voice!
SONGS: Please select only one song to sing. You will sing with Mr. Landis using the karaoke tracks provided. (Audio files and sheet music are posted to Classroom.)

*Callbacks*
If you are asked to call backs -- congratulations! Something about your audition (maybe LOTS of things) caught our attention and our interest. Now the job is to find out who among you are the right choices for this show at this time. It's not about being the best one...it's about being the right one. It's about if the part is right for you and how you fit with the others being considered. Putting a cast together is very much like putting together a huge puzzle -- one that has many possibilities but only one right solution. At callbacks you will both sing and act. You will be taught a portion of a song from the show that you will then sing. You will also read a scene from the show with a partner. You will sing and act in front of the other auditioners.
Think of every audition as a chance to perform. It should be lively and fun and focused. Sure, we know most of you well, but we want to see you perform and that you are taking this opportunity seriously. No parts are pre-cast, every person is considered from what they show us at auditions/callbacks. Take time to research the show and prepare for your audition and/or call back. Break a leg!
